Under the new regulations, which apply immediately, motorized EDP drivers must:
- be at least 12 years of age;
- not to carry another passenger;
- do not drive on the sidewalk (unless authorized by the mayors);
- not exceed the maximum authorized speed of 25 km/h.
In built-up areas, they must use bicycle lanes and strips where available (failing this, they may use roads where the maximum authorized speed is less than or equal to 50 km/h, but also pedestrians must use pedestrian areas, provided they operate at a moderate speed and do not interfere with pedestrians).
At night (or by day due to insufficient visibility), and even in built-up areas, it is now necessary to wear a clothing or retroreflective equipment (vest, armband...).
Parking on a sidewalk is only possible if PEDESTRIANs do not interfere with pedestrian traffic (although the mayor may decide to prohibit it).
FYI
From 1er In July 2020, EDPs will also have to be equipped with front and rear lights, retro-reflective devices, brakes and an audible warning device.
