Since April 21, 2021, employees can benefit, before their voluntary retirement, from an awareness of the fight against cardiac arrest and the gestures that save. A decree was issued on April 20, 2021 in Official Journal pursuant to the law of 3 July 2020. An order of September 7, 2022, published on January 22, 2023, clarifies the situation.
Proposed by the employer, this awareness-raising will enable employees, before their voluntary retirement, to acquire the necessary skills to:
- to ensure the safety of the victim or any other person and to transmit to the emergency service the information necessary for its intervention;

- respond to a cardiac arrest victim and use an automated external defibrillator.
This awareness-raising takes place during normal working hours and may be provided by:
- Fire and rescue services;
- Approved associations and bodies authorized for first aid training which have at least a valid training approval decision issued by the Minister responsible for civil security.
Bodies and professionals authorized to provide such awareness must fulfill these conditions:
- Holders of the certificate of pedagogical competence applied to the employment of first aid trainer (PAE FPS) or the certificate of pedagogical competence applied to the employment of prevention and civic assistance trainer (PAE FPSC);
- either hold the certificate of trainer in occupational rescue worker (FSST), up-to-date with their maintenance-updating of skills;
- Be of age, holders of the Civil Security Citizen Competency Certificate - PSC 1 less than three years old and trained by the employment authority, under its responsibility, on the technical recommendations and pedagogical proposals mentioned in Article 8 of the Decree of 30 June 2017.
An adaptation of this awareness-raising in the form of information communicated by any means on the importance of keeping their skills up to date may be issued to employees attesting to a certificate or attestation, which is valid or less than 10 years old, and in particular:
