As soon as the official election campaign opens, on May 31, 2021, for the first round of departmental and regional elections, the municipalities must settle election signs. The six-question-and-answer update on the rules for settle election billboards around polling stations.
In accordance with Article L51 of the Electoral Code, metal panels must be settled by all municipalities so that candidates can stick their posters to them throughout the official election campaign. Each candidate or list of candidates or candidate pair has a location. There is no limit to the number of posters that can be displayed on a location.
Candidates who do not run in the second round can use the signs to thank voters or to announce their withdrawal. However, the extra panels are removed as from Wednesday morning after the first round (read more about Vie-publique.fr).
