Daily allowances (IJ) are paid by the Health Insurance to compensate your salary during a work stoppage.

The amount of the YI collected is equal to 50% of your basic daily wage. This is calculated on the average gross wages of the last 3 months before your work stoppage (12 months in the case of seasonal work).

The salary taken into account is capped at 1.8 times the amount of the Smic in force on the last day preceding the judgment, i.e. €3,144.96 per month (based on the Smic at 1er May 2023).

If your salary is more than this amount, the calculation of your daily allowances will be as follows:

  • Basic daily wage = €103.40 [(3 144.96 x 3) / 91.25]
  • IJ = €51.70 (103.40 x 50%)

Since 1er may 2023, per diems may not exceed €51.70 gross.

FYI

In the event of a work stoppage of more than three months, the IJs may be revalued in the event of a general increase in wages.
