The "Learning Holidays" operation is based on a number of measures which have all these points in common: strengthening learning, culture, sport and sustainable development. Service-Public.fr informs you

The Learning Holidays are supervised by professionals and have the objectives ofconsolidate learning and contribute to the personal development of young people through cultural, sports and leisure activities.

Several measures are put in place: the open school, the buissonnière open school, my cycling heritage, the summer of the pro, the colos learners and the internships of success.

All these proposals should enable pupils who so wish to consolidate the learning of the year through cultural, sports and leisure activities.

What are Learning Holidays?

The Learning Holidays offer young people a holiday program combining a strengthening of school learning and leisure, cultural or sports activities, in their school, in a nearby establishment or outside schools. Objectives of the operation:

  • combat early school leaving during the summer holidays, keeping the link with pedagogy;
  • offer children who cannot go on holiday leisure activities and raise awareness of environmental issues through discovery.

A device of various shapes

The system takes different forms in order to adapt to the ages and needs of the pupils.

The open school

A balanced program combining academic reinforcement with sports and cultural activities, during school holidays, in their school or usual school or in a nearby school.

Bushy Open School

The Learning Colos

The Coolos learners offer certified and subsidized stays by the state and open to all families, organized during the spring, summer and autumn 2025 holidays. These colonies combine leisure activities with fundamental learning. 300,000 miners went on learning colos between 2020 and 2023. These stays combine learning enhancement, leisure activities around culture, sport and sustainable development.

Successful internships

They are offered during the school holidays (spring holidays, early July, late August and during the All Saints holidays) to students of elementary schools, colleges and high schools who encounter difficulties in their learning. These internships are designed to consolidate basic skills, particularly in French and mathematics, or to fill gaps through work in small groups.

Since 2021, this operation Summer district allows to reinforce the activities offered by the municipalities during the summer for children not going on holiday. The programs are presented at the end of the school year by the municipalities.
