B.A.-BA climate and biodiversity

, is the name of the first free online training on environmental issues offered by the Center national d'éducation à distance (Cned).

It is intended for those interested from a professional point of view or as a citizen.

The system was developed by a specialized editorial and scientific committee (public research reference experts, representatives of think tanks or foundations, experts in digital pedagogy). It is also supported by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Please note

a study published by the Cned indicates that 60% of the French consider that their level of knowledge on ecological issues is not commensurate with environmental issues.

Gain basic knowledge about climate and biodiversity

The training is organized around 5 modules designed to enable you to acquire all the knowledge on climate and biodiversity.

  1. Definition of climate change.
  2. Causes of climate change and solutions to mitigate them.
  3. Consequences of climate change and solutions for adaptation.
  4. Biodiversity.
  5. Collective and individual choices to achieve carbon neutrality.

Each module lasts 1h30 and offers media of various scientific contents (films, videos, podcasts, graphics...) and animations (questionnaires, texts with holes, return cards...).

How do I take the training?

Training is free and open access on the website of the Cned :

  • you are master of your navigation, you can realize the modules at your own pace, in the order you want;
  • once a module is completed, you have the opportunity to go further with a quiz that will validate the knowledge acquired. This then allows you to obtain a digital badge Validates your module.
  • if you obtain the badges of the 5 modules, you receive the badge
