A decree issued in Official Journal on 23 august, employers increased their participation in subscriptions paid by public officials to a public transport service or to a public bicycle rental service. Partial payment of the price of tickets is compulsory for all public employers vis-à-vis all their employees, whether civil servants or contract staff. Such participation shall relate to the ticket or tickets for the shortest possible journey from his habitual residence to his place of work.

The transport tickets concerned are:

  • multimodal subscriptions (which allow the use of different types of public transport: train, bus, etc.) to unlimited journeys, as well as annual, monthly or weekly or tacit renewal subscriptions to unlimited or limited journeys issued by the RATP, the SNCF, private transport companies belonging to the professional organization of transport of Île-de-France (Optile) or any other public passenger transport company;
  • subscriptions to a public bicycle rental service.

It is not possible for an agent to combine the cost of a public transport service subscription with the cost of a bicycle rental service, if these two packages cover the same journeys.

FYI

the amount corresponding to the partial assumption by the employer shall be paid monthly, even if the security is annual.

The employer’s contribution may not exceed €96.36 per month, currently.

Tickets purchased individually (e.g. bus tickets) are not supported.
