Learning and disability guide: the 2024 edition is online!

To develop and encourage the recruitment of apprentices with disabilities, the Ministry of Labor is publishing the 2024 edition of the Learning and Disability Guide.

In 2023, apprentices with disabilities accounted for only 2% of apprenticeships started in the year. To increase this low rate, the Ministry of Labor is publishing the 2024 edition of the Learning and Disability Guide. It informs companies, apprenticeship training centers (ATCs) and persons with disabilities about the adapted apprenticeship contract.

This guide shall include information on:

  • the benefits of managed learning ;
  • the available aid ;
  • the interlocutors.

What is a modified apprenticeship contract?

The adapted apprenticeship contract is a contract for persons who are recognized as disabled workers (RQTH).

It is accessible from the age of 16 and without a maximum age limit.

The apprentice hasadjustments andaid in order to secure and facilitate its training course.

Arranged learning is part of initial training. It aims to issue a qualification or diploma registered in the National Directory of Professional Certification (RNCP) following a training course which combines:

  • periods of theoretical instruction in CFA and ;
  • periods of practical training (teaching of the trade) with a private or public employer with whom a contract has been signed.

The duration of an arranged apprenticeship contract is between 6 months and 3 years according to the certification prepared. She may be extended by one year to benefit from training time adjustments.

The employer has an obligation to offer the apprentice adaptations to compensate for the consequences of his disability.
