The relaxation of the rules for the use of restaurant vouchers, which was to end on December 31, 2023, is extended until December 31, 2024. This is confirmed by the law of 26 December 2023 published in the Official Journal following the announcement by the Minister for Trade on November 14.

As a reminder, the law of 16 August 2022 for the protection of purchasing power provided for a specific derogation of use between 1er October 2022 and December 31, 2023, in relation to the high inflation environment: “Restaurant vouchers may be used to pay all or part of the price of any food product, whether or not it is directly consumable (meat, starch, deep-frozen baking products, etc.).”

It will therefore still be possible in 2024 to use restaurant vouchers to pay for food products other than meals eaten in restaurants or purchased from similar businesses (bakeries, caterers, medium and large-scale stores).

You can use your restaurant tickets to pay for food not directly consumable (e.g. groceries, pasta, frozen vegetables, meat).

Please note

the National Commission of Restaurant Titles lists the products eligible for restaurant vouchers during the derogation period.

Reminder

since 1er October 2022, the daily ceiling for restaurant titles is set at €25.
