Aid for the purchase of a bicycle abolished as of 15 February 2025

You have until 14 February 2025 to benefit from the bike bonus and the electric bike conversion bonus. Such aid for the purchase or rental of a cycle may be paid to individuals or legal persons. Service-Public.fr provides you with the terms and conditions of these features.

The bonus and conversion bonus for new or used bikes can be claimed until 14 February 2025 inclusive.

To benefit from these aids, you must have purchased or rented your bike from a professional; billing (or payment of the first rent in the case of a rental) must take place no later than february 14, 2025.

The rules on the bicycle bonus and the electric bicycle conversion bonus in force since 14 February 2024 apply.

The bike bonus

Since 2024, the ecological bonus aid covers new or used bicycles sold by a professional and identified. In particular, you can request:

  • an ecological bonus ‘VAE’ - electric assisted bicycle, for the purchase of a new or used electric bicycle (the bonus is set at a maximum of €400 per bike and granted under means test);
  • an ecological “cargo bike” bonus, for the purchase of a cargo bike, an electric bicycle trailer or a bicycle adapted to disability situations. It is awarded on a means-tested basis. The maximum aid is €2,000 for an individual and €1,000 for a legal person.

To benefit from the bike bonus or the electric bike conversion bonus, you must submit an application on the dedicated site.

The conversion premium

Are you an individual or a legal entity (company, association, community...) and you want to get rid of an old or polluting vehicle (car or van) to buy a bicycle?

Until 14 February 2025 inclusive, you can benefit from the conversion premium depending on your situation.

Reference tax income per share up to € 24 900

You can benefit from a maximum of €1,500 per new or used bike, up to a maximum of one bike per person in the household.

The eligible vehicles are:

  • electrically assisted bicycle;
  • cargo bicycle, provided that it is assisted by an electric device;
  • an elongated bicycle (longtail), provided that it is assisted by an electric device;
  • bicycles adapted to a disability situation, provided that they are assisted by an electric device;
  • electric folding bicycle.

Reference tax income per unit up to € 7 100 or disability status

The aid is up to €3,000 per bicycle, up to a maximum of one bicycle per person in the household.

You live in a low-emission area (LFA)

You can receive an additional €1,000; this surcharge can be increased to up to €3,000 if you also receive local aid to buy or rent a clean vehicle against the destruction of an old vehicle.
