Civil service: the sustainable mobility package is extended

Publié le 27 juin 2024 - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)

Are you an official of the State or territorial civil service? If you take free public transport from home to work, you can now take advantage of the Sustainable Mobility Package. Until then, you were only eligible for this scheme if you were riding a bicycle, a motorcycle or an electric scooter to work.

You can benefit from the sustainable mobility package whether you are a civil servant or a contract worker. The annual amount depends on the number of days you use one of the eligible modes of transport:

  • €100 for use between 30 and 59 days;
  • €200 for use between 60 and 99 days;
  • 300 € for a minimum of 100 days.

If you are a civil servant of the State or the territorial civil service, you can now collect this package when you take free public transport between your home and your place of work; this provision is valid for trips made since the beginning of 2024.

This means of transport is thus in addition to those which already enabled officials of the public service of the State or of the territorial public service to benefit from the scheme, in particular:

  • carpooling (as a driver or passenger);
  • a bicycle (electric or not);
  • a moped or motorcycle (the vehicle must have been rented or made available for self-service; and the motor must be electric);
  • a motor-driven personal displacement machine (electric scooter, monorow, gyropod, etc.).

To benefit from the device you must provide to the administration that employs you a certificate of honor, no later than 31 December of the year for which you request the payment of the Sustainable Mobility Package.

You can find on our factsheet "Reimbursement of commuting costs (public service)" all the modalities of the device according to your situation.

Reminder

in the territorial civil service, the payment of the sustainable mobility package is not compulsory; the establishment of the scheme must first have been the subject of a deliberation by the local authority.
