Publié le 03 juillet 2024 - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)

After 5 years of freezing tuition fees, the 2024 academic year marked the first increase since 2019. Registration fees are indexed to the national non-tobacco consumer price index. Service-Public.fr take stock.

To enroll in a higher education institution, you have to pay registration fees and a student and campus life contribution (CVEC). The CVEC amounts to €103.

FYI

the scholarship students are exempt registration fees.

From the start of the 2024 academic year, the fees for enrollment in public higher education institutions are indexed according to the national non-tobacco consumer price index established by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) for the preceding calendar year. These amounts are reviewed annually.

For the 2024 school year, the benchmark is January 2023.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, the fees are as follows:

  • €175 for national diplomas of the bachelor's degree cycle;
  • €250 for national master's degrees;
  • €391 for doctoral degrees and the right to conduct research;
  • €618 for engineering degree (except for programs started after 1er September 2018 at the École Centrale de Lille, Lyon, Marseille et Nantes, and the École des Mines de Nancy, where annual tuition will be €2,572).

When a student prepares several diplomas in the same institution, he or she shall fulfill the first full-rate and other reduced-rate entries.

These reduced-rate fees are fixed in particular at:

  • €116 for national diplomas of the bachelor's degree cycle;
  • €164 for national master's degrees;
  • €260 for doctoral degrees and the right to conduct research;
  • €413 for engineering degree (except for programs started after 1er September 2018 at the École Centrale de Lille, Lyon, Marseille et Nantes, and the École des Mines de Nancy, where annual tuition will be €1,715).
