Taking stock of your health with My prevention check-up

Publié le 24 septembre 2024 - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)

Envisaged in the Social Security Financing Act for 2023, “My Prevention Check-Up” is a device offering 4 free medical appointments at different ages of life to make a general assessment of his health.

After having been tested in 2023 in certain departments, “Mon Bilsour Prévention” was extended in 2024 throughout France.

These free preventive appointments are for people in these 4 age groups:

  • 18-25 years;
  • 45-50 years;
  • 60-65 years;
  • 70-75 years.

Four types of practitioners can be consulted during these appointments: doctor, nurse, pharmacist and midwife. Physical therapists will be added to the device soon.

The evaluation may be carried out with a doctor of your knowledge or an authorized practitioner. A list of these health care practitioners can be found in the directory of santé.fr.

A prevention check-up, why?

The purpose of this check-up is to allow patients to discuss 5 points about their health with the doctor:

  • family and personal medical history;
  • lifestyle: diet, physical activity, addictions, etc. ;
  • identification of chronic diseases and prevention;
  • a general health check: weight curve, vaccinations, oral follow-up, etc. ;
  • mental and social well-being: sleep, emotional life, working conditions, etc.

How do I do the check-up?

Make an appointment with your chosen healthcare provider.

Prior to the appointment, you must complete a self-questionnaire (not required) for your age group. This document is available by logging in to My health space.

You will need to bring this questionnaire with you at the prevention appointment as well as documents concerning your health (last blood test, vaccination booklet, possible results).

The evaluation will take place in 3 stages (allow a maximum of 45 minutes):

  1. Identifying individual risks (including through the self-questionnaire).
  2. Joint prioritization of one or two prevention topics about you, following a decision shared between you and the doctor.
  3. Drafting a personalized prevention plan (PPP)drafted jointly with the doctor. This PPP indicates: the priority objectives for your health, the barriers related to the conduct of lifestyle changes, concrete actions to be implemented, the resources and stakeholders that the patient can consult (doctors, sports associations, etc.)

Please note

Prevention evaluations are 100 % covered by the Health Insurance for all insured persons, free of charge.

Prevention evaluation can be done only once per person and per age group.
