Seasonal workers: a device to help you find housing

As a seasonal worker, you may find it difficult to find a place to rent because there is no solid deposit. To remedy this situation, you can use the VISALE guarantee, a free device that guarantees landlords the payment of rent and the coverage of any damage.

The VISALE guarantee makes it possible to secure your file when you are looking to access the private rental park. The device protects the lessors from your eventual unpaid payments or damage; it is thus provided that:

  • your unpaid rent is taken care of from the first month that this occurs, when the amount of the amounts due reaches or exceeds 50% of the rent including expenses;
  • leasehold losses are covered (damage is guaranteed within the limit of 2 months of rents and charges entered in the lease with a possible assumption by the arrangement of an additional month of rent for the damage to the property, in other words damage caused to the mobile objects contained in your home).

Please note

The VISALE guarantee scheme is also aimed at:

  • employees over the age of 30 earning up to €1,500 net per month;
  • tenants of a mobility lease;
  • young people aged between 18 and 30, whatever their employment situation (employee, civil servant, student or alternant/apprentice, unemployed...).

What are the conditions to benefit from the VISALE guarantee as seasonal?

To qualify for the VISALE warranty as a seasonal:

  • your employment contract must be explicitly labeled “seasonal” (this contract must be in progress at the time of your request to benefit from the device or active within 3 months);
  • you must be at least 18 years old;
  • your principal residence must be outside the employment pool of your seasonal assignment ;
  • the rent of the accommodation for which you benefit from the VISALE guarantee must not exceed 600 € (800 € in Île-de-France).

You can apply online for the VISALE guarantee, after tested your eligibility for the device. Once your application has been validated by Action Logement, you have a reliable guarantor who will dispense you with any other deposit.

Please note

You can also benefit, as a seasonal worker, from other measures put in place by Action Logement:

  • THE LOCA-PASS ADVANCE (or AGRI-LOCA-PASS ADVANCE, if you are employed in the agricultural sector), which is financing in the form of a loan at a rate of 0% of the payment of your security deposit, an amount generally required at the time of signing a lease;

  • the temporary housing platform, on which you can find advertisements for furnished accommodation with a surface area of 15 to 20 m² offered for temporary rental.

As a seasonal agricultural worker, you can also benefit from a flat-rate assistance of €150 per month for your accommodation costs ; you can collect it when you have both a seasonal employment contract and a rental agreement. This free service can be requested up to 6 months after the start of your seasonal business. The aid can be paid to you for a maximum of 4 months.
