How do I apply for the certificate of good repute deployed in 6 departments?

The certificate of good repute is an official document certifying that a person is not subject to any final conviction preventing him from practicing or intervening with minors. In order to systematize the monitoring of criminal records in the field of child protection, a decree of 28 June 2024 specifies the provisions concerning the attestation of good repute. This certification is required in certain sectors of activity such as health or education.

If you work in the departments of Paris, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Maine-et-Loire, Nord and Vendée, you can, since 23 september 2024 an application for a certificate of good repute on the website of the Ministry of Solidarity, Autonomy and Gender Equality.

When do I need to apply for a certificate of good repute?

If you are working or volunteering in a child protection institution or medico-social service or in a childcare facility, you must present a certificate of good repute less than 6 months old, at recruitment and at regular intervals during the professional exercise.

You are:

• volunteer or professional intervenor in child welfare institutions and social and medico-social services or in an early childhood care facility: you must submit the attestation when you are hired by a new employer, or when you first volunteer in a facility. Then, every 3 years in order to continue working with minors.
• maternal or family assistant: to practice, you must apply for a certificate or renew your approval with the departmental council. This formality has to be accomplished every 5 years during the course of the professional exercise.

How to obtain a certificate of good repute?

The process is as follows:

1. go to the gate application for a certificate of good repute;
2. Click on “Request a Certificate of Good Repute”
3. log in via FranceConnect to create your account (or create an account with your email address; the processing time will be a little longer);
4. fill in the relevant fields;
5. download the attestation (an email notifies you in about 15 days of the availability of your attestation on your personal space);
6. submit your certification to your employer or add it to your application for certification.

What is the deployment schedule?

The deployment schedule, by departments and authorities, of the information system generating the certificates is laid down by an order of 8 July 2024.

6 departments are affected by the first wave of deployment from 23 September 2024: Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Maine-et-Loire, Nord, Paris and Vendée.

Deployment will continue in the course of 2025 for the other departments.
