Mail and parcels: average price to rise 6.8% in 2025

Publié le 12 décembre 2024 - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)

From 1er January 2025, mail and parcel prices will increase by an average of 6.8%. These tariff adjustments were announced by La Poste in a press release dated July 24, 2024. They are intended to cover losses linked to the fall in the volume of mail and inflation. Service-Public.fr informs you about the new rates.

The Post Office is making adjustments to its service from 1er January 2025.

This development is part of the multiannual tariff framework decided by the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications, Postal Services and Press Distribution (Arcep). It must make it possible “to ensure the sustainability of the universal postal service with high quality in a context of inflation and declining mail volumes, and to continue to meet the uses and needs of its customers while reducing its carbon footprint”.

The overall average increase from 2025 is 6.8%.

Please note

in 2024, a household spends €29 on its annual postal costs; this budget is expected to decrease by 3% in 2025. In 2015, this household expenditure was around €48.
