How do I volunteer during the holiday season?

Wrap gifts to raise money, make a marauding, distribute meals, write a greeting card for an isolated person... Do you want to volunteer for the holiday season? Here's how to find a mission that suits you close to home, so that this period is a party for everyone.

Christmas and New Year are celebrations associated with generosity. The needs of associations are numerous at this time of year to support the most vulnerable, isolated or precarious people. Volunteering is an act of unpaid solidarity outside working and family time. Whatever your situation, you can freely engage in solidarity action.

To become a volunteer, you can:

  • contact an association directly to find out what its needs are during this period;
  • or consult the platform I Want To Help.gouv.fr.

Throughout the month of December, specific missions are offered:

  • packaging gifts (especially from big brands), with a return to associations;
  • help for the frail and isolated: marauding, hot meals, blankets;
  • collection of products and toys for Christmas;
  • preparation of joint and several packages;
  • etc.

Example :

  • The Integral boxes The Red Cross can be used to prepare a package at your home for distribution to a poor person (it can include a warm garment, a non-perishable food item, a hygiene product, a leisure object, a card or a little note).
  • The Little Brothers of the Poor organize banquets and new year's eve celebrations at the end of the year; you can make a donation for someone to enjoy. Many associations also call on volunteers to organize this type of evening throughout the month of December: cooking, service or animation, you will find the mission that suits you.

For the 3e year after year, the public volunteering platform JeVeuxAider.gouv.fr is renewing the operation December Together. Throughout the month of December, a large number of solidarity actors can submit mission proposals to the 550,000 registered volunteers on the site. You have to register your association then you can publish your ads.
