Carte grise The government has decided to increase the legal limit on the regional tax for the regional tax in 2025: this ceiling passes from 60 € to 65 € per tax horse.

The regional tax is one of the taxes that make up the cost of the registration certificate, more commonly known as the certificate of registration carte grise. It is set by the regional councils and can be reviewed annually.

Carte grise To calculate it, you have to multiply the rate of 1 fiscal horse (CV or horse steam, indicated in section P6 on the) of the region where you live by the fiscal power of the vehicle.

Two simulators can estimate the total cost of registration based on the tax power of the vehicle and the region where you live:

At 1er january 2025, the regional tax has increased in 5 zones and amounts to:

  • Normandy: €60 ;
  • Loire Valley Center: €60 ;
  • Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur: €59 ;
  • Nouvelle-Aquitaine: €53 ;
  • Corsica: €43.

At 1er in february, it increases:

  • in Brittany: €60 ;
  • in the Great East: €60.
  • in La Réunion: €57

At 1er in march, it will increase:

  • in the Hauts de France: €42 (50 % exemption deleted for hybrid vehicles).

Reminder

Electric vehicles are exempt from the regional tax.
