How do I get a Certificate of Rights (Vital Certificate)?

Verified 10 April 2024 - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)

The steps required to obtain a certificate of entitlement vary depending on your plan, whether you are in the general plan or in another plan (for example: MSA, public service mutuals, special plans). The attestation of rights may be essential for certain everyday activities.

Who shall I contact

FYI

If you are deaf or hard of hearing, you can contact a videointerpretation advisor.

Warning

The hard copy of the information contained in your vital card, which is transmitted to you at the same time as the card, does not have the value of a Letter of Rights.

Other schemes

For persons who are members of a scheme other than the general scheme, the parent body must be contacted.

This organization will tell you how (e.g. e-mail, telephone...) to request the certificate of rights.

For example:

  • MSA: titleContent
  • Mutual societies of the public service for certain public officials
  • Special social security schemes (RATP, SNCF...)

Warning

The hard copy of the information contained in your vital card, which is transmitted to you at the same time as the card, does not have the value of a Letter of Rights.
