Veteran's Recognition Allowance (formerly Veteran's Retirement)

The war veteran's recognition allowance is an amount paid in recognition of national recognition by the department responsible for veterans affairs. In principle, it is granted from the age of 65 but, in some cases, it can be paid from the age of 60. We present you with the information you need to know.

From 65 years

You must have the fighter's card.

You must apply in the month before your 65e birthday.

You must provide the form cerfa no. 10860 completed and the supporting documents listed therein.

You must send your request to theONaCVGONaCVG : National Office of Veterans and Victims of War on which your home depends.

Services performed in Algeria from 1962 to 1964

You must apply in the month before your 65e birthday.

You must provide the form cerfa no. 15924 completed and the supporting documents listed therein.

You must send your request to theONaCVGONaCVG : National Office of Veterans and Victims of War on which your home depends.

€835.64 per year.

The war fighter's recognition allowance is paid to his beneficiary every 6 months, until his death.

It shall be paid to expired term, on dates fixed by reference to your month of birth.

The recognition allowance is combined with occupational pensions.

It is non-transferable, meaning that you cannot pass on your right to the veteran's pension to another person.

Bank account seizure It is not subject to seizure, i.e. its amount is not taken into account in the case of seizure (for example, in the case of wages or salaries).

It is not taxable, nor is it taken into account in the calculation of resources when applying for social assistance.

On the death of the beneficiary of the war fighter's recognition allowance, his death certificate must be transmitted to the service of theONaCVGONaCVG : National Office of Veterans and Victims of War from his department.

Please note

When the recipient of the war fighter's recognition allowance dies (regardless of age), the allowance is no longer paid. But his spouse (widow or widow) or Civil partnership partner, once he is at least 75 years old, gets an additional half share of family quotient for income tax purposes.

From 60 years

To obtain the recognition allowance of the combatant from the age of 60, you must personally request it as soon as you have the veteran's card.
