What documents can a Frenchman use to travel to Algeria?

The entry conditions in Algeria are different if you are French or if you have dual French-Algerian nationality. If you are traveling with your child or if he or she is traveling alone, additional documents will be requested (family booklet, authorization to leave the territory, photocopy of the identity card or passport of the parent who has given his or her consent).

if you are applying for a business visa, you will also need to have a letter from the employer (letter of assignment) or a letter of invitation from the partner in Algeria and a hotel reservation or proof of acceptance by the inviting organization.
In addition, you must have a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of application for the visa.
Example :
If you apply for a visa on the 1ster July, your passport must be valid until the end of December.
The visa price is €110 if you leave less than 90 days and €130 if you leave longer (including application fees).
The time to obtain a visa is from 2 to 10 working days.

Warning
in Algeria, the legal age of majority is 19 yrs.
Even if you entered Algeria with an Algerian passport, you must present a valid French identity document (passport or national identity card) to return to France.
This document should be presented regardless of your age.

If the child travels with his mother, it is recommended that the mother has the father's permission.
If the child is a father's orphan, his mother must have a document certifying his marriage to the deceased father, or a copy of the father's death certificate, or an authorization from the judge responsible for the protection of minors.
Traveling alone or with someone else
The child must have with him the following 3 documents:
- Valid passport covering at least the entire stay
- Authorization to leave the territory (and associated documents) to leave France
- Letter of authorization from his parents with their legalized signatures. The child or his or her accompanying person must present this authorization upon arrival in Algeria.
You are subject to the regulations applicable to Algerians.
FYI
a Franco-Algerian minor must, in addition to his or her valid French passport, have a valid Algerian passport in order to leave Algeria. So he won't need a visa.
Specific conditions may apply to young people subject to military service in Algeria (e.g. census, exemption from service). It is advisable to inquire about the conditions of entry and exit in Algeria with the competent Algerian consular authority.
