If you live abroad, you can vote from the foreigner for legislative, European, presidential, foreigner councilors and referendums. To do so, you must be registered on the consular voters list. However, to vote in particular in regional, departmental and municipal elections, you must be registered on the electoral list of a municipality.

You can request your registration on the consular voters list when you register on the register of French nationals established outside France or after you have registered in that register.
You must use this online service:

You can apply for registration on the consular voters list by going directly to the consulate (or embassy).
You must provide the following:
- Proof of identity
- Proof of residence in the consular constituency
- Form completed and signed

- From the foreigner, for the members to be elected in the constituencies of the foreigner, on condition that they be entered on the consular electoral list.

For the election of French representatives to the European Parliament, you can choose to vote:
- Or from the foreigner, provided they are on a consular list of electors
- Or in France, on condition of being registered on the electoral list of a municipality
Warning
If you are registered to vote in the European elections in your host country, this registration takes precedence. It allows you to vote for the representatives of your host country in the European Parliament. If you want to elect French representatives from your host country, you must apply to be removed from the electoral list of your host country and apply to be registered on the consular electoral list.
