Supplementary Invalidity Allowance (Asi)

Verified 01 April 2024 - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)

If you are disabled and you are not old enough to get the Solidarity Allowance for the Elderly (Aspa), you can get theAsi: titleContent, according to your income. The Asia comes to supplement your income, to make you reach a minimum total amount. It is paid monthly by the Social Security (or MSA: titleContent if you are dependent on the farm plan).

The situation varies depending on your life in pairs or that you live alone.

You live as a couple

You must have a general disability that reduces your ability to work or earn by at least 2/3.

There is no minimum age to apply for Asia.

But it is no longer possible to get the Asi as soon as you reach the age for obtaining Aspa (legal retirement age).

The 2 people receive the Asi

The amount of Asi paid to your couple each month is equal to the difference between €1,574.24 and the amount per month of income taken into account of your couple.

Each person in your couple receives half of the calculated amount of Asi.

    Example :

For a couple whose income taken into account is 700 € per month:

    • The total amount of Asia paid is €1,574.24 -€700=€874.24 per month.
    • Each person in the couple receives €874.24 / 2 = €437.12 per month.

    Reminder

The Asi is not paid if the amount per month of the income taken into account of your couple exceeds €1,574.24 per month.

    1 person receives Asi

The maximum amount of the Asi paid each month shall be equal to the difference between €899.56 and the minimum amount of the invalidity pension (€328.07), which gives €571.49 maximum per month.

    Reminder

The Asi is not paid when the amount per month of the income taken into account of your couple exceeds €1,574.24 per month.

1 person receives Asi, the other receives Aspa

The amount of aid paid each month shall be equal to the difference between €787.12 and half of the amount of income taken into account of your couple.

    Example :

For a couple whose income taken into account is €700 per month:

The amount of Asia paid is €787.12 -€350=€437.12 per month.

    Reminder

Asia is not paid if the amount of income taken into account of the torque exceeds €1,574.24 per month.
