To apply for registration on the list of electors of a municipality, you must either live or reside there, be one of its taxpayers, or be the manager or partner of a company located in that municipality. One or more supporting documents must be provided.
What applies to you ?
Resident or resident
You must provide proof of less than 3 months, in your name and mentioning the address of your residence in the municipality.
Generally accepted supporting documents include:
- Attestation or invoice (less than 3 months) of water, electricity, gas, landline telephone established in your name by the company
- Home insurance certificate (less than 3 months old)
- Non-handwritten rent receipt (less than 3 months)
- Salary slip or pension document (less than 3 months)
- Household waste collection fee (most recent)

If you are in a retirement home, you can provide a certificate from the director (less than 3 months) certifying the reality of your accommodation and indicating the address of the establishment.
The residence is where you live at the time of application effectively and continuously, for at least 6 months.
Consequently, it is not enough to work in the commune, or to occupy a second home during the holidays or the weekend.
To register, you can provide, for example, 1 of the following documents :
- Invoice (less than 3 months) for water, electricity, gas or landline
- Certificate of insurance (less than 3 months)
- Rent receipt (less than 3 months)

If you are an official subject to compulsory residence in the commune, you can register before the end of the 6-month period. To do this, you have to prove that you are an official (by a professional card or a certificate from the administration) and that you reside in the commune.

At your father's and/or mother's
You're under 26
You must provide the following 2 documents :
- Document of less than 3 months proving the domicile of your parent in the commune
- Document proving your parentage. For example, copy of family record, birth certificate with indication of filiation.
You are 26 years of age or older
You must provide the following 3 documents :
- A letter signed by your parent, certifying that you live at home and less than 3 months old
- Document proving your connection with the municipality (recent salary statement or any document indicating your name and the address of the parent hosting you)
- Copy of the identity card of the parent you live with
In another person
You must present the following 3 documents :
- A letter signed by the person you live with, certifying that you live at home and less than 3 months old
- Document proving your connection with the municipality (recent salary statement or any document indicating your name and the address of the person hosting you)
- Copy of the identity card of the person you live with
In some cases, you can register in a municipality other than the one where you live/reside. You must then provide proof of your attachment to this municipality.

Your spouse can apply to be registered on the same voters list as yours, provided you provide proof of your marriage.
You can choose to register in the municipality where the body that issued you a certificate of address for service.
In this case, you must provide one of the following documents :
- Proof of address for service issued either by a communal or intercommunal social action center or by an approved body. The attestation must certify your connection to this establishment from at least six months.
- Your ID card. She must have at least 6 months and indicate the address of the communal or intercommunal social action center or the approved body where you have chosen to live.

Mariner
If you are a mariner (craftsman or employee), you can apply to be registered on the electoral list of certain municipalities belonging to your home region.

Family member of a petty officer
If you are a family member of a mariner and whether you live on board, you can apply to be registered on the electoral list of certain municipalities belonging to your home region.
You must provide the following:
- Proof of your mariner activity (e.g. employment contract, employer attestation, pay slip)
- Proof of your registration in a home region
- Proof that you are a member of the family of a resident mariner on board
Taxpayer (local taxes)
You must prove that you are subject to local taxes of the municipality, since at least 2 years. It may be the same tax or different taxes due successively during this period.
The local taxes concerned are as follows:
- Residential tax on secondary residence
- Property tax, on built property or unbuilt
- Company property tax (ex business tax)
You must provide the following:
- Either the last 2 tax notices where your name appears
- Either a certificate from the DDFP: titleContent where your name appears

When you are registered on the list of the municipality, your spouse can apply to be registered on the same list of electors as yours.
Manager or partner of a business
You must prove that you are the manager (manager) since at least 2 years of a business registered for at least 2 years the role of the direct contributions of the municipality.
You must provide the 3 documents following:
- Appointment decision (or extract) or copy of the appointment decision rewritten in the register of decisions of general meeting of the business or even the statutes of the business

- Certificate issued by the business of which you own shares or control
- Document proving the inclusion of the business in the role of the municipality for at least 2 years
- Honor certificate of the continuity of your position as a single majority partner of the business for at least 2 years
