How is the foreigner spouse taken into account in the calculation of the SSA?

The resources of the foreign person with whom you live (spouse, cohabiting partner or Civil partnerships: titleContent foreigner) shall be taken into account in calculating the amount of RSA: titleContentunder certain conditions. The basic amount of your RSA (so-called flat rate) also depends on your publication hearth, depending on whether you live with a spouse European or a spouse from another country.
European spouse
Principle
The amount of the SSA shall be equal to the difference between the lump sum and the total resources taken into account by the hearth.
Impact on household resources
The European spouse must declare his/her resources to the Caf: titleContent (or the MSA: titleContent) if it is in any of the following situations:
- He has a declared professional activity in France
- He was engaged in this activity, was on work stoppage or in vocational training or was unemployed (and registered with France Travail (formerly Pôle emploi)) at the time of your RSA application
- He has a right of residence in France and has been living there for at least 3 months on the date of application
If your spouse is in one of these 3 situations, their resources are therefore taken into account to calculate your SSA entitlements.

The foreigner spouse shall be taken into account in the composition of the household.
Its presence therefore increases the lump sum taken into account to calculate your rights to the RSA.
Spouse of another country
Principle
The amount of the SSA shall be equal to the difference between the lump sum and the total resources taken into account by the hearth.
Impact on household resources
The foreigner spouse must declare his or her assets to the Caf: titleContent (or the MSA: titleContent) if it is in any of the following situations:
- He's got a resident card
- It has the status of refugee, of stateless persons or beneficiary of the subsidiary protection
- He has a residence permit authorizing him to work in France
If your spouse is in one of these 3 situations, their resources are therefore taken into account to calculate your SSA entitlements.
