Republican identity document (TIR) of a foreigners minor born in France

The Republican identity document (TIR) has not been issued since the 1er March 2019.

You must now request a Minor foreigner Movement Document (MRD).

Before

If the request was made before 1er In March 2019, a Republican Identity Document (TIR) was issued to the child under 18 years of age born in France foreigner parents with a residence permit.

The Republican Identity Document (TIR) allows the minor foreigner to prove his identity for a number of procedures.

It also authorizes him, after a trip abroad, to return to France or to the external borders of the Schengen area without requiring a visa.

He attests to the regularity of residence miner in France.

The TIR must be accompanied by a valid travel document (passport in most cases), as long as the young person is traveling outside France.

The TIR is valid 5 years.

FYI  

at the end of the TIR validity, if your child is still a minor, you must request the issuance of a 1er Minor foreigner Movement Document (MRD).
