What is the residence permit issued to a single foreigner minor on his or her majority?

If you are a foreigner (non-European) minor collected by theAse: titleContent or a trusted third party or if you are unaccompanied minor, you can obtain a residence card by your majority. You must meet certain conditions. Depending on your situation, we will tell you which card can be issued.
A residence permit can be issued if you are in one of the following cases:

You are collected before the age of 16
If you are a minor foreigner entered isolated in France and entrusted to theAse: titleContent or a trustworthy third party no later than age 16, you can get a temporary residence card private and family life.
The prefect is looking at your situation in a global way. It shall verify all of the following conditions:
- Training taken (it must be real and serious)
- Nature of your links with the family remaining in the country of origin (the prefect examines the reality and stability of the links developed in the French territory, with regard to your links that you have maintained in your country of origin)
- Opinion of the host organization or the trustworthy third party on the guarantees of your insertion in the French business, which will be taken into account.
A long-stay visa is not required to obtain the residence card.
This card allows you to pursue studies or the professional activity of your choice (paid or self-employed work, business, etc.).
You can ask for the card private and family life at age 18 (or at age 16 if you want to work).
When submitting your application for a residence permit, you must pledge to respect the principles of the Republic.
You are collected between the ages of 16 and 18
If you are a minor foreigner entered isolated in France and entrusted to theAse: titleContent or to a trusted third party between 16 and 18 years, you can be admitted to the stay. But this is regularization exceptional, and not an automatic right.
Depending on the nature of your training, you may be issued one of the following cards:
- Employee or temporary worker card if you have been in qualifying vocational training for at least 6 months
- Student Card if you are in high school or university.
To accept or refuse to issue the card, the prefect examines your situation in a global way. It shall take into account the following elements:
- Training you are taking (it must be real and serious)
- Nature of your links with your family in the country of origin (the prefect examines the reality and stability of the links developed on French territory, in the light of the links you have maintained in your country of origin)
- The host organization's opinion on the guarantees of your inclusion in the French business, which will be taken into account.
A long-stay visa is not required to obtain the residence card.
