Driving with a motor boat: what are the rules?

If you are at least 16 years old and do not have a boat license, you can sail with a pleasure craft motor-driven in the context of accompanied driving. Accompanied driving is possible for 1 year.

The accompanying person must comply with the following 2 conditions:

  • Have had the boat license for at least 3 years
  • To have made an accompanying statement of conduct

The place where the return is filed differs depending on whether you are in Metropolitan France or overseas.

Metropolis

This declaration is valid for 1 year.

Overseas

This declaration is valid for 1 year.

FYI  

being an escort without a permit for at least 3 years is punishable by a €1,500. Likewise, being an escort without having made a declaration is punishable by a fine of €150.
