What is return and reintegration assistance?

If you are a foreigner in an irregular situation and you are under an obligation to leave the territory of France (OQTF), you can apply, under certain conditions, for help with the return and reintegration of theOfii: titleContent to return to your country of origin.

Return and/or reintegration assistance may be granted if you leave France to return to your country.

You must must return in your country of origin. You can't go to another country.

The return must be voluntary.

Return Assistance

The return assistance shall include the following elements:

  • Administrative and material assistance in preparation for the journey to the country of return
  • Payment of transport costs from the place of departure in France until arrival in the country of return
  • Incentive flat-rate allowance, paid in one installment and degressive according to the time elapsed between the notification of the OQTF and the date of submission of the aid application to theOfii: titleContent
  • Flat-rate supplementary allowance of €150 when you have a travel document or if you obtain it, exceptionally

In certain cases, a lump sum increased may be granted.

Reintegration aid

Reintegration aid may be granted to you under certain conditions in addition to or independently of the return aid.

It may include the following:

  • Social reintegration assistance
  • Reintegration assistance through employment, possibly with vocational training
  • Assisting in reintegration through company creation

Depending on your case and nationality, you may be eligible for some assistance. You must prove that you have been resident in France for at least 3 consecutive months.

General case

Return aid and reintegration aid shall be paid abroad in an irregular situation on French territory:

  • If he is the subject of a decision imposing an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF) at the time of his departure
  • Or if the country of origin of the foreigner has signed an agreement with France providing for a system of aid for reintegration

You are a national of the European Union, Switzerland, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and the Vatican

You cannot benefit from these aids.

You are a visa-free third-country national of Belarus or Kosovo

You cannot benefit from reintegration assistance if the obligation to leave French territory has been notified more than 4 months before the date of submission of the aid application.

You cannot benefit from the lump sum incentive allowance or reintegration assistance if the obligation to leave French territory is not accompanied by a prohibition on return to French territory (IRTF) and if the applicant cannot prove residence in France for at least 3 consecutive months.

The aid is granted once only. If you have already received this assistance, you cannot ask for it again.

To request return assistance, you must present your project to an advisor at theOfii: titleContent.

The amount of the financial incentive allowance depends on several factors:

  • Country of origin
  • Number of persons in the same family leaving France
  • Time elapsed between notification of the OQTF and the date of submission of the OFII request for assistance (phases 1, 2 and 3 in the following table).

Some countries are visa-free to enter France.

Amount of the lump sum incentive allowance increased

The Office may decide, following a request from the Prefect of Department, to grant an increased amount of the lump sum allowance to nationals of one or more nationalities or to categories defined according to their administrative situation.

The amount of the increased financial incentive allowance depends on several factors:

  • Country of origin
  • Number of persons in the same family leaving France
  • Time elapsed between the notification of the OQTF and the date of submission of the OFII aid application (phases 1, 2 and 3 in the following table).
