Who shall I contact

Your resignation may be legitimate if you are the victim of criminal acts in the course of your work (physical violence, harassment for example).

You have to justify to have lodged a complaint for one of these reasons. The receipt of the complaint shall be attached to the application.

Before you resign, check that you meet all of these conditions.

If you meet these conditions, you can collect the AER.

If your resignation is not considered legitimate, However, there are 2 options to be compensated under the ERA:

  • You work at least 3 months (65 working days or 455 hours) after you resign
  • After 121 days of unemployment (about 4 months), you can ask France Travail the review of your situation to get the ARE.

A regional joint authority (RPI) of France Travail is responsible for verifying that the following 2 conditions are met:

  • Complete the conditions of award of the ARE (other than the condition of involuntary deprivation of employment)
  • Provide evidence of your active job search, possible short-term job openings and your steps to undertake training.

If your request is accepted, the starting point for the payment of the AER shall be as soon as possible 122e day of unemployment.
