What is Caregiver Leave?
Caregiver leave allows you to temporarily stop working or work part-time to care for a disabled or disabled family member.
Who are the relatives involved?
The person accompanied may be your spouse or a child in your care (as defined in family benefits).
It can also be a ascendant, one descendant, one collateral until 4th degree or an ascendant, descendant, or collateral to 4e degree of your spouse.
Finally, the person being accompanied may also be an elderly or disabled person with whom you reside or have close and stable ties, and to whom you regularly and frequently help, on a non-professional basis, to perform all or part of the acts or activities of daily life.
How long is the leave?
The duration of the leave is set at a maximum of 3 months renewable within the limit of one year over your entire career.

- Only on days off taken in the case of split use
- The duration equal to the ratio between the duration of the leave taken in the form of part-time and the duration resulting from the service obligations laid down for a staff member working full-time to be counted in days or half-days.
As of August 27, 2023, if your caregiving leave is renewed or you are getting a new caregiving leave, you can take your caregiving leave per half day.
