Step-by-step approach

The minor and his/her supervisor must report set at the counter. Their presence is indispensable.

The person responsible must exercise parental authority. It can be the father, the mother or the guardian. He has to show his own ID.

The location of the application does not depend on the domicile. You can surrender in any town hall, provided that it is equipped with a recording station.

Pre-application for a 1st passport application

The documents have to be submitted originals.

  • Photo ID less than 6 months old and conforms to standards
  • Proof of domicile
  • Identity document of the requesting parent
  • If you've done the pre-application, number and/or QR code obtained (if you have not made a pre-request, you will have to fill in and sign the cardboard form that will be given to you at the counter)

Before age 12

The person in charge has to go to the counter to pick up the passport.

He shall sign the passport on the spot together with the endorsement the father, the mother or the guardian.

The passport that is issued is a biometric passport.

It should be removed within 3 months of its availability. After this period, the passport is destroyed.

A minor's passport is valid for 5 years.

Between 12 and 13 years

The manager has to go to the counter with her child to retrieve the passport.

The person in charge signs the passport on the spot accompanied by the endorsement the father, the mother or the guardian.

The passport that is issued is a biometric passport.

It should be removed within 3 months of its availability. After this period, the passport is destroyed.

A minor's passport is valid for 5 years.

If he becomes an adult before his expiry date, he can continue to use it and does not need to apply for a new passport.

From the age of 13
