Medical examinations of the child: compulsory examinations - Up to 6 years

Your situation

The content of these examinations shall cover the following points:

Physical, mental and behavioral development
Child's emotional life
Screening for sensory (sight, hearing) and psychic (examples: anxiety) disorders, speech disorders, and neurodevelopment disorders
Vaccinations (verification of vaccination status, practice of compulsory and recommended vaccinations and possibly administration of preventive treatments for childhood diseases)
Health-promoting behaviors and environments (e.g. physical activity, sports, screen exposure)
Respect of dental follow-up.

Test results are listed:

Age of the child	Mandatory examinations
Within 8 days of birth	1 exam At the end of this examination, the doctor completes the 1st health certificate.
During the 2^e week	1 exam
Between 1 month and 5 months	5 exams
At 8 months	1 exam At the end of this examination, the doctor completes the 2nd health certificate.
At 11 months	1 exam
At 12 months	1 exam
Between 16 and 18 months	1 exam
Between 23 and 24 months	1 exam At the end of this examination, the doctor completes the 3rd health certificate.
Between 2 years and 5 years	4 tests (once a year)

The results of these tests are listed in the child's health record.

Please note

Examinations are done either by the attending physician of the child, or by another doctor chosen by the parents working in town or in the PMI.

Consultations for these mandatory examinations are reimbursed to 100%, without advance payment for parents, except overpayment of fees.

These consultations are also fully supported for the beneficiaries of State medical assistance (AME).
