A working day is any day of the week that can legally be worked, except for the weekly day of rest (usually Sunday) and any public holiday that is usually not worked.
We count them 6 per week (usually Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday).
The counting of a public holiday during the employee's leave depends on what is usually done in the company: day unemployed person or day worked.

A clear day lasts from 0am to 24h.
A time limit calculated in this way does not take into account the day of the decision giving rise to the time limit, nor the day of the deadline.
Example :
If the deadline ends on a Saturday or Sunday, it is postponed to Monday. If the period ends on a public holiday, it shall be postponed by one day. So if a deadline ends on a Saturday and the following Monday is a holiday, it is postponed to Tuesday.
A period of 10 days shall be calculated from Thursday 14 December 2023:
- The day of the original date of the deadline is not taken into account, so the count starts on Friday, December 15, 2023
- The deadline normally ends on Sunday 24 December 2023
- As the deadline ends on a Sunday, it is postponed to the following day on Monday, December 25, 2023
- Since Monday, December 25, is a public holiday, the deadline has been extended to Tuesday, December 26, 2023
A calendar day is any day in the calendar year, including holidays and unemployed, from 1er January to December 31, 365 days a year and 7 days a week.

How do I calculate a deadline when there is a holiday?
Here's how to calculate a 7-day deadline, depending on whether you're talking about calendar, free, working or working days. In our example, the deadline starts on a Monday and there is a public holiday (Wednesday).
- Deadline counted in calendar day: Monday + Tuesday + Wednesday + Thursday + Friday + Saturday + Sunday
Every day counts.
- Deadline counted in a clear day: Monday + Tuesday + Wednesday even if it is a holiday + Thursday + Friday + Saturday + Monday of the following week.
Postponed to the next day if the 7th day falls on a Saturday, Sunday (as in our example) or a holiday.
- Deadline counted in working day: Monday + Tuesday + Thursday + Friday + Saturday + Monday of next week + Tuesday of next week.
We don't count Sundays or public holidays.
- Deadline counted in working day: Monday + Tuesday + Thursday + Friday + Monday of the following week + Tuesday of the following week + Wednesday of the following week.
There are no public holidays (here Wednesday), Saturdays or Sundays.
