What city planning authorization is required to swallow or repaint a facade?

The recharge or the painting of your facade, without modification of the exterior appearance of the building, is exempt fromcity planning authorization. However, if you change the exterior appearance (by changing color or materials), your work is subject to a prior work declaration (PNR).

Warning  

You must file a Advance Work Statement (AD) if your construction is in any of the following situations:

  • Protected area
  • Protected building
  • Municipality or perimeter of municipality or municipal council orEPCIEPCI : Public institution for inter-municipal cooperation decided to make the refurbishment subject to authorization.

No change in external appearance

Removing or repainting your facade without changing its appearance is exempt from city planning authorization.

This is routine maintenance or repairs.

You then do your work or paint identically, keeping the same color and the same materials.

With external appearance change

Repainting or repainting your facade with a change in the external appearance is subject to DP. This is the case, for example, if you change the color of your facade or use different materials.

You must complete and submit your DP by dematerialized means according to the arrangements made by your municipality or on a paper form. Inquire on the website of the city hall or on site.
