Step-by-step approach

You can choose to take an internship to collect points on your driver's license.

Your permit must be valid (you must have 1 point or more).

You can recover up to 4 points within the limit of your license ceiling (12 points, or 6 points for a probationary permit less than 1 year).

You can do Maximum 1 internship per year.

Example :

If you do an internship on the 1ster on october 2, 2023, you can do a new internship starting on the 1er October 2024.

The price medium of the course is €200.

However, the traineeship manager is free to set the price.

The internship lasts 2 consecutive days (14 hours, or 7 hours a day).

The course is led by a road safety expert and a psychologist, who are graduates and authorized to lead the road safety awareness courses.

The aim of the training is to change the behavior of the driver.

The syllabus includes 2 modules :

  • Teaching on general drivers of road insecurity (accident case studies, driving exercises...)
  • Special education on specific themes (speed, psychoactive products...)

If necessary, a personalized interview and/or a driving session can be organized.

Interview is mandatory if you have already participated in 2 road safety awareness courses.

Maintenance takes a minimum of 45 minutes. He is led by the psychologist of the internship, outside the 14 hours of the internship.

You must take the road safety awareness course in a approved establishment by the prefect.

Who shall I contact

One probationary certificate you are given if you have completed the entire course.

You are informed by mail of the points recovered (note that it may take several weeks to send the mail).

In practice, dots are added on your permit when the administration registers your certificate of internship.
