Legislative elections 2024: when to register on the consular voters list?

You can register on a consular list of electorsto vote in the 2024 parliamentary elections, on the condition that you find yourself in a particular situation (unregistered 18-year-old, recent move, recent acquisition of French nationality, recently regained voting rights) and to do so until June 19 to vote from the Americas, and until June 20 to vote from the rest of the world. We'll explain.

Continent of America

Theparliamentary elections 2024 take place on 29 June (1er tower) and 6 july (2d tower).

Voting via the Internet (electronic voting) is open from 25 June to 12 pm to 27 June 2024 at 12 pm (Paris time) for 1er tour, and from July 3 at 12 pm to July 4, 2024 at 6 pm (Paris time) for the 2ndd tower.

You're on the foreigner's register

When you turn 18, you are automatically registered on the consular voters list of the country in which you live.

You can then to vote abroad.

To vote from the foreigner, you must register on the consular voters list. You can do this all year round. But if you want to vote in the 2024 general election, you must do so before a deadline. This deadline depends on your 18th datee birthday:

Your 18th birthday is no later than June 9, 2024

To vote, you must be registered as of June 9, 2024.

If you are registered, you can vote in the 2024 general election.

If you are not registered, you will not be able to vote in these elections.

Your 18th birthday is from June 10 to June 28, 2024

You have until june 19, 2024 to register on the consular voters list.

You will then be able to vote from the foreigner for this election.

You must go to the consulate or embassy and provide the following documents:

You have until june 19, 2024 to register on the consular voters list.

You can only vote from the foreigner on the 2ndd round of this election.

General case

When your move takes place after June 9, 2024, you cannot vote from the foreigner in this election.

Following retirement (public official)

If you are a public official (public servant or contract employee) and you move because you were admitted to retirement after June 9, 2024, you can register on the Consular List of Electors until june 19, 2024.

Family members who live with you on your retirement date have the same time to register.

You must go to the consulate (or embassy) and provide the following documents:

For professional reasons

You can register on the consular voters list until june 19, 2024, if you are:

  • You move because of your work (except change) after 9 June 2024. Your family members residing with you on the date of the move also have this time to register.
  • You are a public servant (public servant or contract employee) who moves because of his or her work (including deployment) after June 9, 2024. Family members who live with you on the date of the move (or transfer) also have this time to register.
  • You are a member of the Canadian Forces who has been returned to their home after meeting the legal obligations of being employed, released from a class recall, or demobilized, or who relocated upon your return to civilian life after June 9, 2024.

You must go to the consulate (or embassy) and provide the following documents:
