What documents and child's affairs should be exchanged between parents?

All matters necessary for the child's daily life should be exchanged between parents. We give you the information you need to know.

It is customary, in the best interests of the child, that his clothes, shoes, toiletry bag, soft toys can be given to the other parent when he changes residence.

Clothing and footwear should be suitable for its size and climatic conditions, be in good condition and in sufficient numbers.

The child's luggage should contain the sufficient for the stay of the child, depending on his duration, his age...

The parent exercising access and accommodation may also have business for the child.

Equipment for the usual activities (clothes and shoes adapted to the sport that he practices, musical instrument...) must also be handed over.

All the child's affairs must be returned to the parent with whom the child has his or her habitual residence at the end of the weekend or holiday.

Please note

In case of alternate custody, each parent must have clothing, shoes and other belongings for the child.

The child is the holder of his or her identity card and sound passport.

These documents must be provided from parent to parent, at each arm pass, that is to say when the child goes to the other parent (alternate care, weekend or for holidays).

The handing over of these documents is necessary for the proper exercise of parental authority.

Every documents necessary for the practice of the activities of your child (sports license for a competition, insurance certificate...) must also be given to the other parent.

Warning  

In case of refusal, you can to refer the matter to the family judge which can require the other parent to provide you with the documents, under penalty payment possible.

You can enter the court of law to request damages if you prove that the non-delivery of the documents caused you harm (cancelation of holidays, additional costs ...).

The child is the holder of his or her health book.

If necessary, it must be delivered from parent to parent.

In case of medical treatment, medicines, medical prescription and medical equipment must also be provided to the other parent.

Ensuring the child's health is an obligation linked to parental authority.
