If your child has just been recognized as having a disability, financial assistance may be granted to you subject to conditions.
AEEH and associated aids
As the parent of a child with a disability, you can collect Education allowance for disabled children (AEEH) to help pay for expenses related to your child's disability. This aid may be supplemented by one of the following:
- AEEH Add-In or disability compensation benefit (DCH) top-up if your child has a certain level of disability
- Daily parental attendance allowance (DPA) if the severity of your child's disability forces you to reduce or suspend your professional activity.
Aid for transport
You can have a Mobility Inclusion Card (CMI) to help you get around with your child.
If your child cannot use public transportation to get to their school, they can use other modes of transportation including the costs may be covered.
