Daily support allowance for a person at the end of life

The daily support allowance for a person at the end of life (AJAP) is paid to an employee who is on family solidarity leave. A self-employed person or a jobseeker may also receive the PGCA. The conditions for payment of the allowance vary according to the applicant's situation. We present you with the information you need to know.
What applies to you ?
Employee
The employee may receive the daily support allowance for a person at the end of life:
- if it has a family solidarity leave
- or if he has converted his family solidarity leave into part-time employment.
Counseling for dying people should be done at home (not in the hospital). For example, one of the following locations:
- Home of the person being accompanied
- Home of accompanying person or third person
- Retirement home
- Accommodation for dependent elderly persons (Ehpad)
Several accompanying persons may share the allowance if they accompany the same person (simultaneously or successively).
The conditions for applying for the daily support allowance for a person at the end of life vary depending on whether the application concerns one or more accompanying persons.

The silence of the Najap for more than 7 days from the date of receipt of the application shall be deemed to be agreement.
The amount of the allowance shall be €63.34 per day.
It is fixed at €31.67 whether the employee has converted his family solidarity leave into part-time work.
The allowance is paid to the employee from the date of receipt of the application by the Canadap, provided that the conditions are met on that date.
The allowance shall be paid on a daily basis, up to a maximum of 21 days (or 42 days in the case of reduced part-time work), working days or not.
Payment of the allowance shall be maintained when the person accompanied at home has to be hospitalized.
Several accompanying persons may receive the allowance if they accompany the same person, concomitantly or successively, within the limit of the authorized daily payments.
Example :
for example, one person can claim 10 days of benefits, and another can claim the remaining 11 days.
The accompanying person may not simultaneously receive the following benefits (where he is entitled to them):
- Compensation for maternity, paternity or adoption leave
- Severance pay or maternity or paternity replacement allowance
- Accident at work Compensation for sick leave or leave (however, it is possible to accumulate compensation if it is paid for part-time work)
- Shared Child Education Benefit (PreParE)
The allowance shall no longer be paid at the end of the authorized daily payments. It shall also no longer be paid from the day following the death of the person accompanied.
Self-employed
The self-employed person may receive the daily support allowance for a person at the end of life if he has suspended or reduced his professional activity.
