Can you be paid during your training at France Travail (formerly Pôle emploi)?

You are registered with France Travail as a jobseeker, but you do not receive the Return to Employment Assistance (RWA). Can you however take a training course approved by France Travail? Can your training be paid for? We present you with the information you need to know.
If you wish to take training approved by France Travail as a job seeker, you can receive a remuneration for training from France Travail dit EPFR, under conditions your personal situation.
You may receive this training during all or part of the duration of your training.
You can collect the EPFR if you complete all the following 3 conditions:
- You are on the list of jobseekers
- You are taking a training course approved by France Travail
- You don't perceive Return to Employment Assistance (RWA) on the day of your registration in training
When you register for training, you must make a request for remuneration to your France Travail advisor.
Your remuneration depends on your personal situation.

You are a worker with a disability
If you have had at least 6 months of previous employment in a 12-month period, your monthly remuneration is between €723.36 and €2,009.82.
If you have been employed for at least 12 months in a 24-month period, your monthly remuneration is between €723.36 and €2,009.82.
If you do not meet these conditions of employment, your monthly remuneration is €723.36.
For a part-time internship (less than 30 hours per week), your remuneration, for each hour of training, corresponds to the monthly remuneration for a full-time internship, divided by a coefficient of 151.67.
You have dependent children
You perceive €723.36 per month if you are widowed, divorced, separated or single under 26 and you are the sole caregiver of at least one child.
You also receive this amount if you are a mother with at least 3 children.
For a part-time internship (less than 30 hours per week), your remuneration, for each hour of training, corresponds to the monthly remuneration for a full-time internship, divided by a coefficient of 151.67.
You are a widow, divorced or legally separated
If you are widowed, divorced or legally separated for less than 3 years, your monthly remuneration is €723.36.
For a part-time internship (less than 30 hours per week), your remuneration, for each hour of training, corresponds to the monthly remuneration for a full-time internship, divided by a coefficient of 151.67.
You're a pregnant woman
If you are a single pregnant woman who has completed the statutory prenatal check-up and declaration, your monthly salary is €723.36.
For a part-time internship (less than 30 hours per week), your remuneration, for each hour of training, corresponds to the monthly remuneration for a full-time internship, divided by a coefficient of 151.67.
You're unemployed and you've never worked
- If you are between the ages of 16 and 18, your monthly salary is €208.
- If you are between 18 and 25 years old, your monthly salary is €520.
- If you are over 25 years of age, your monthly salary is €712.40.
For a part-time internship (less than 30 hours per week), your remuneration, for each hour of training, corresponds to the monthly remuneration for a full-time internship, divided by a coefficient of 151.67.
You are self-employed
If you have had at least 12 months of previous employment or self-employment, including 6 consecutive months, in the 3 years prior to the internship, your monthly remuneration is €708.59.
For a part-time internship (less than 30 hours per week), your remuneration, for each hour of training, corresponds to the monthly remuneration for a full-time internship, divided by a coefficient of 151.67.
Other jobseeker
If you are between 16 and 18 years of age, your monthly remuneration is €208.
If you are between 18 and 25 years old, your monthly remuneration is €520.
If you are over 25 years of age, your monthly remuneration is €712.40.
However, if you under 26 years of age and you have had at least 6 months of previous employment in a 12-month period (or at least 12 months in a 24-month period), your monthly remuneration is €712.40.
This remuneration is an exception to the normal remuneration for persons under 26 years of age who have never worked. Thus, persons over the age of 26 who have already been in paid employment will receive the same remuneration as persons over the age of 26 (i.e €685).
For a part-time internship (less than 30 hours per week), your remuneration, for each hour of training, corresponds to the monthly remuneration for a full-time internship, divided by a coefficient of 151.67.
If you are doing full-time training, the remuneration is paid at the beginning of the month following your request.
Example :
for a training course in october, the remuneration is paid in early november.
The remuneration is taxable as Return-to-Work Assistance (RWA).
FYI
one mobility aid may be granted to you under certain conditions, depending on the distance between your home and your place of training.
Accumulation with SSA
You cannot accumulate the specific solidarity allowance (SSA) with the remuneration of France Travail (RFPE) training courses.
The payment of the SSA will be suspended during the collection period of the CSR.
Accumulation with active solidarity income (SSA)
You can receive France Travail (RFPE) and RSA training fees.
Depending on the amount of your EBP remuneration and the composition of your household, your entitlement to EBP may be reduced or eliminated.
