Foundations and endowments are structures created by one or more donors who pool capital to carry out a work of general interest. They are distinguished by the minimum amount of the initial endowment required to create them. There are different types of foundations, depending on the purpose they pursue. Public benefit associations and foundations and endowments may receive donations and bequests.
