Expropriation

Expropriation is a procedure that allows a public person (government, local authorities, etc.) to compel an individual or a legal person (company) to transfer ownership of their property, in return for compensation. This procedure contributes in particular to the realization of public works (social equipment, sanitation networks...). In some cases, after expropriation, the expropriated person may benefit from a right to take back the property.
