Recommendations to follow in case of fake technical support scam
Fake tech scams scare victims with messages that block their computers.
Victims are usually told of a serious technical problem and the risk of losing their data or using their device in order to pressure them to contact a so-called official technical support to convince them to pay for pseudo-computer troubleshooting and/or to buy unnecessary or even harmful software.
The website cybermalligence.gouv.fr presents the recommendations to follow in this situation.
